Connect your ecosystem

Assess your SME's readiness to join a Data-Driven Platform of Platforms (DPoP) in a decentralized supply chain. Map your position in the chain, score your ESG baseline, weigh material issues, validate LGPD/GDPR/CLOUD compliance, place yourself on the four-quadrant platform model (Monopoly / Fragmented / GSM / Internet), activate the network effects that fit your business, and generate a transparency report aligned with the institutional ESG-mandate capital pool.

Step 7 · Platform model

Figure 2 of the paper plots four platform archetypes along open–closed and centralized–decentralized axes. Pick the quadrant that describes where you currently sit. The DPoP target is the Internet quadrant: open, decentralized, loosely-coupled — the only configuration where SMEs compete on equal footing.

If you are not in the Internet quadrant today, the next steps will tell you what to change so a DPoP integration can deliver value. Concrete production-grade DPoPs already exist — Catena-X for the European automotive supply chain, Gaia-X as the federation layer above it, and the IDSA reference architecture for the connectors and data-usage contracts that hold the whole thing together.
